Multi-Party Contracts

Replaced SpotDraft's fixed two-party contract assumption with configurable party roles, so contract creation, questionnaires, and publishing could support more than one organization or individual on either side of an agreement.

01

Challenge

Contract creation assumed a single creator and a single counterparty. That covered simple bilateral contracts but broke down for workflows where several organizations or individuals held distinct roles in the same agreement.

02

Approach

I authored the backend specification for multi-party contracts, then built the creation-flow changes: request models that accepted a list of counterparties instead of one fixed party, optional party-role identifiers, publishing validation requiring a creator and at least one counterparty, and party-role support inside the Questionnaire V2 APIs it was built on. I also worked through full-workspace enablement and migration checks for templates created before the new model existed.

03

Outcome

Multi-party support shipped and was migrated and enabled across workspaces, letting teams configure and label multiple parties in a single contract workflow and reuse party roles inside questionnaires and later workflow configuration.

04

What it taught

Moving from a fixed pair to a configurable collection of roles touches more of the system than the data model: request schemas, questionnaire responses, template migration, and workflow variables all had to move together.

Legal Intake

Structured legal-request intake, first explored as a 2024 internal hackathon project with Sanket Mishra and Punit Batra, then built out through 2025 as a cross-functional squad I led, and shipped to production in January 2026 as the 'front desk of Legal' inside SpotDraft.

Platform Vision & Strategic Charter

Wrote the Platform Pod's 2026 Strategic Charter and roadmap after Platform was added to my scope in November 2025 — identifying identity, access, tenant lifecycle, auditability, and automation as the core gaps standing between SpotDraft and enterprise and AI-native readiness, then leading the team against that plan.
